Environment and Sustainable Development

Environmental protection and sustainable development are essential pillars of democratic governance and global cooperation. At the EPLO, we support governments and institutions in designing policies that promote sustainable economic development including sustainable tourism development, sustainable food policies, circular economy as well as sustainable water management. 

Our technical cooperation in this area focuses on:

  • Strengthening institutional frameworks for environmental governance and sustainable development
  • Supporting alignment with EU environmental legislation and international standards
  • Training and empowering public officials, local authorities, and civil society actors
  • Promoting citizen participation and environmental awareness

We have implemented various projects including interregional projects within the EU and across the globe, contributing to the green deal and sustainable development goals. 

At EPLO, we believe that sustainable development is not just an environmental goal—it is a comprehensive strategy for building resilient societies, fair economies, and healthy ecosystems.
