The European Law and Governance School (ELGS) launched its Doctoral and Master of Studies (MSt) Training Week in Research Methods for Legal and Political Science on 2-6 February; an intensive program designed to support early-stage researchers in developing rigorous, original, and ethically grounded research projects.
The Training Week brings together doctoral and Mst students for a series of focused academic sessions addressing core aspects of advanced research, including research design, methodology, interdisciplinarity, academic writing, qualitative analysis, teaching during the PhD, presentation skills, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in research. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding what constitutes a contribution to knowledge, structuring a viable doctoral project, and navigating the broader research ecosystem.
The program also includes institutional and study visits, as well as dedicated sessions on research funding opportunities, equipping participants with practical tools to support their academic progression and professional development.
Through this initiative, ELGS reaffirms its commitment to high-quality doctoral training and to fostering a new generation of scholars in Law and Governance, fully prepared to engage with contemporary academic, policy, and societal challenges.
