A new milestone for Greek–Beninese cooperation in Industrial Property

From December 2025 to February 2026, a series of online training sessions on Industrial Property was successfully delivered to the Directorate of Industrial Development of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Benin, as part of the project,"Enhancing the capacities of the Directorate of Industrial Development of Benin".

The training program brought together officials and experts for ten thematic sessions covering key areas of IP, including trade secrets, trademarks, industrial designs, patents and utility models, anti-counterfeiting measures, IP business assets, digitalization and commercialization of IP, protection of rights in e-commerce environments, and public awareness strategies.

The sessions were delivered by experts from the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), including Mrs. Katerina Margellou, Deputy Director General & Director of Legal Support, Mrs. Myrto Lambrou Maurer, Head of International Affairs, Dr. Galateia Kapellakou, Mr. Kostas Abatzis, Dr. Krystallenia Kolotourou, and Dr. Ioannis Kikkis, who provided practical insights aligned with EU and international standards.

This activity forms part of the broader capacity-building project aimed at strengthening institutional expertise and supporting innovation-driven development in Benin's industrial sector.

The Project is funded by the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI) and implemented by the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) in cooperation with OBI.
