On 10 March 2026, the Director of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO), Prof. Spyridon Flogaitis, met with H.E. Timur Sultangozhin, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Greece, at the EPLO premises in Athens.
The discussion focused on the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the EPLO and Kazakhstan, particularly in the fields of public law, public administration, and academic collaboration. Both sides explored opportunities to deepen partnerships with Kazakh universities and research institutions, including joint educational and research initiatives, academic mobility schemes, and the participation of Kazakh experts in EPLO’s international programs and events.
During the meeting, the Ambassador briefed Prof. Flogaitis on the political and institutional reforms currently underway in Kazakhstan, initiated by President Kassym‑Jomart Tokayev. These reforms—culminating in an upcoming constitutional referendum—aim to strengthen the rule of law, enhance democratic governance, and modernize public administration structures.
Prof. Flogaitis welcomed these developments, noting their significance for the country’s institutional evolution. He also highlighted the active engagement of Kazakh academic and research bodies in EPLO activities to date, including collaborations with leading universities and the involvement of Kazakh specialists in EPLO’s expert networks.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further expand cooperation and to advance new areas of partnership in education, research, and governance.
The EPLO looks forward to further developing this promising partnership.
