Seminar on National Measures for the Protection of the Internationally-Protected Human Rights

The EPLO, in collaboration with the Swiss Confederation and the Swiss Embassy in Greece, organized a seminar on “The National Measures for the Protection of the Internationally-Protected Human Rights”, within the framework of the Confederation’s support to voluntary actions in favor of the respect of international law through the DFA (Federal Department of Foreign Affairs) and the DDIP (Directorate of International Public Law).

The speakers in this event included Prof. Ph. Pazartzis (Law Faculty, University of Athens, Alternate Member of the Hellenic National Committee on the Dissemination and Implementation of International Humanitarian Law), Prof. M. Gavouneli (Law Faculty, University of Athens), Prof. L. Sisilianos (Law Faculty, University of Athens, Member of the EU Network of Independent Experts in Fundamental Rights, President of the Sub-Commission for Civil and Political Rights at the National Commission of Human Rights), Dr. Ch. Moukiou (Lecturer, Panteion University of Political and Social Science), Dr. V. Tzemos (Attorney-at-Law, Special Investigator of the Greek Ombudsman, University of Patras), and Dr. E. Micha (Attorney-at-Law, Researcher, Law Faculty, University of Athens).

The audience consisted of 11 representatives of the Constitutional Courts of 8 Balkan and Caucasus countries (Presidents, Senior Advisors, Heads of Secretariat, Heads of Legal Department, etc.).
