The EU funded IPR Kosovo (EU Support to the Intellectual Property Rights System in Kosovo) project, implemented by IBF International Consulting and EPLO, organized a Study Visit in Athens, Greece, for the representatives of the Industrial Property Agency of Kosovo, the Office of Copyright (Zyra për të Drejtat e Autorit dhe të Drejtat e Përafërta), and the Kosovo Customs (Dogana e Kosovës).
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen capacities of institutional representatives from Kosovo and raise the level of cooperation with their Greek counterparts. During the visit, there was an opportunity to receive more information and insights on the structure and competencies of the Hellenic Copyright Organization, the functioning of the Collective Management in Greece, the application of industrial property rights and the grant procedure issued by the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation , the tariff system for copying and reprogramming, as well as establishing contacts for future cooperation. Also during the visit at Onassis Foundation, the participants discussed the harmonization of Kosovo’s legislation with the EU Directives as well as the challenges that the Copyright Office in Kosovo is facingon collective management for economic rights of the artists
The IPRKosovo made this visit possible in Athens for all representatives of Kosovo institutions who are in charge of policies, legislation and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
