An international Conference took place at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens, within the framework of the Project “MARIE CURIE - Institutional Benchmarking for the Implementation of the Water Framework Directive and Integrated Water Resources Management in South-Eastern Europe.”
The speakers in this event included specialized scientists, high-ranking government officials responsible for the water management, and general secretaries from international councils of water protection.
The audience consisted mainly of Greek lawyers and specialized scientists in environmental law and the amendments of the EU Water Framework Directives in the Balkan and Eastern European Countries.
The issues discussed during the conference covered the national experiences in the implementation of the water framework directive, as well as the strategies and methods of public participation.
