The money has been transformed in our times from a simple medium of transactions/ exchange to a commodity that produces profit as well as a medium of political influence and power. When it refers to debt, the money may become the governing power of a country bypassing regimes, institutions and democratic processes.
The scientific and research workshop titled "Political philosophy of money" organized by the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) on Thursday December 1st, 2016, in Athensrevolved in this context.
The main speakers were:

> Apostolos Pantazis, Lecturer of Social Theory, Democritus University of Thrace.
> Napoleon Maravegias, Professor of Political Economy, National and Capodistrian University of Athens and Deputy Rector of the same University.
> Theodoros Georgiou, Professor of Political Philosophy, Democritus University of Thrace.
A dialogue with the audience followed. The coordination and direction of the discussion was conducted by the artist Panos Charalambous, Dean of the School of Fine Arts in Athens.
