2nd Event on GDPR

The first event of the newly established Institute for the Institute for Privacy Law, Data Protection and Technology (IPL) of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) was successfully held on Tuesday 29 May 2018 at the premises of the Institute for Protection of Privacy, Data Protection and Technology in Plaka on the subject "General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): The Next Day".

The Institute for Privacy Law, Data Protection and Technology (IPL) was established by the European Public Law Organization to promote knowledge and policies in the areas of personal data  and privacy protection, technology, society and fundamental rights. Professor Lilian Mitrou of the University of the Aegean, Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, is the President of the Institute, while Nicolas Kellellopoulos, lawyer and president of the Institute for Justice and Development, is the Executive Director.

Mr. Konstantinos Menoudakos, President of the Personal Data Protection Authority, Honorary President of the Council of State,participated  in the event and welcomed the guests  and Professor Spyridon Fologitis, Director of the EPLO, made the welcome address.

Interesting interventions that attracted people's attention were made by:

Lilian Mitrou, Professor of the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering at the University of the Aegean, and President of the IInstitute for Privacy Law, Data Protection and Technology,
Spyridon Vlachopoulos, Professor of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, member of the Personal Data Protection Authority (APIA)
Evgenia Alexandropoulou - Egyediadou, Professor of Law and Informatics at the Department of Applied Informatics of the University of Macedonia

The event was followed by an interesting discussion which was moderated by Nicolas Kanellopoulos, Executive Director of the Institute for Privacy Law, Data Protection and Technology and President of the Institute for Justice and Development.

A number of lawyers, academics, lawyers, officials and representatives of the country's legal community, computer scientists, public administration officials and others honored the EPLO with their presence.
