PROJECT TITLE: XENOPHON- Training of Jurists on the Rule of Law and Support to the Necessary Legal Reforms in Armenia

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To train Armenian jurists on the concept of the ‘Rule of Law’ and to support the necessary legal reforms towards the establishment of a true State of Law in Armenia. In this framework, the project trained Armenian jurists on the principles of pluralistic democracy and respect of human rights and civil liberties towards the improvement of the economic and political situation in Armenia.
ACTIVITIES:
The project included:
- Organization of three training seminars for selected judges, prosecutors, notaries and lawyers;
- A one week study visit to Greece for Armenian jurists and representatives of the Armenian government; during the visit, the representatives participated in seminars by prominent experts and were informed on the Greek and European practices on the subject;
- A six-month scholarship for studies and research in Greece to an Armenian jurist.
