The overall objective of the ViSAR project is to enhance the effective implementation of EU victims' rights laws, particularly in the context of domestic violence, by fostering cooperation among key stakeholders, improving access to justice and support services for victims, and developing standardized resources and tools that promote a comprehensive, coherent, and inclusive victim support strategy across EU Member States.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • Enhance collaboration among prosecutors, judges, law enforcement, CSOs, and other stakeholders involved in victim support.
  • Facilitate access to justice and compensation for victims of domestic violence and crime, particularly focusing on marginalized groups such as women, children, and the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Create and disseminate mutual learning materials on EU directives, psycho-social support, and restorative justice measures.
  • Develop an AI-supported platform to improve information exchange and response for victims and service providers.
  • Establish transnational standard model agreements and aligned workflows to address cross-border aspects of victims' rights effectively.
  • Foster the professionalization of support services through training and shared best practices.

 

ACTIVITIES

  • Preparation of the Activities Report to document ongoing efforts, Evaluation, and Quality Management to assess the project's effectiveness, development of Progress Reports to track milestones, and preparation of Steering Committees Reports that summarize discussions and strategic decisions made by the project’s steering committee.
  • Collection and analysis of data relevant to victims' rights and domestic violence and creation of a Fact-Finding Report, Analysis Report and Working Groups Report providing valuable insights for further action.
  • Creation of Training and Information Materials designed to educate various actors about EU directives and victim support practices.
  • Developing an AI Tool to facilitate information sharing, alongside compiling Best Practices and Mutual Learning Materials to promote knowledge exchange.
  • Establishment of Transnational Standard Model Agreements and Aligned Work-Flows to enhance cooperation across borders.
  • Organization of joint events that foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders involved in victim support, emphasizing the importance of collective engagement to strengthen victim support frameworks across the EU.
  • Effective communication and dissemination of project findings, organizing a Symposium to engage stakeholders in discussions about project outcomes.
  • Various Publications will be produced to share insights and recommendations with a broader audience, ensuring the project’s impact is widely recognized and utilized.
