PROJECT TITLE: DIOKLITIANOS - Implementation of EU practices in the field of taxation in the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To support the Tax Administration Office of the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina in drafting and implementing tax policies and enhancing the capacity of small medium-size enterprises (SMEs) according to EU practices, so as to contribute to the political and economic development of the Brcko District and as a result of this the improvement of living standards and the economic growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
ACTIVITIES:
The activities of the project were the following:
- Organization of four seminars in the Brcko District, addressed to economists, accountants, businessmen, lawyers and jurists; during the seminars particular attention was paid to the transfer of the know-how and specific expertise on the reform of the tax system for the aid of the small medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and the familial income;
- Organization of a one-week study visit to Greece for ten Bosnian representatives of the Tax Administration Office of Brcko;
- Organization of four short-term expert missions to Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to meet the local authorities and provide technical and specific expertise as well as introduce necessary legislative reforms in the field of taxation.
