PROJECT TITLE: ALEXIOS - Administrative Reform in Lebanon
COUNTRIES: Lebanon
OBJECTIVE: To train civil servants of the Ministry of Administrative Reform, as well as other Lebanese civil servants and jurists, in order to support the necessary legal reforms towards the establishment of a true state governed by the rule of law in Lebanon. The project aimed at the modernization of the public service delivery system and the implementation of Good Governance and Better Regulation principles.
ACTIVITIES:
The activities of the project included:
- Organization of four training seminars with the participation of four European experts in Beirut;
- Organization of a study visit for jurists and civil servants in Athens in order to meet with representatives of the Greek authorities;
- Organization of a short-term expert missions in Lebanon in order to advise the Ministry of Administrative Reform on specific issues of their legislation;
- Organization of three seminars in Athens for Lebanese civil servants;
- Inauguration of an EPLC Office in Saint Joseph University in Beirut;
- A final publication including all issues and debates covered during the project.
