The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) is organising an official side event at the 2026 United Nations Water Conference, titled "Promoting Water Resilience in the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council: Experiences from the South-East Mediterranean and the United Arab Emirates."
Drawing on experiences from the Greek islands, Cyprus and the UAE, the discussion will explore how policy, innovation and partnerships can strengthen water resilience. Topics will include desalination, wastewater reuse, water governance and the protection of coastal and marine ecosystems, with a focus on practical opportunities for EU–GCC cooperation.
