This project aims to directly address the key barriers limiting Benin’s economic productivity by:
Support and Capacity Building: Support and enhancement of the capacities of the competent authority for Industrial Property within the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Benin.
Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance aligned with EU and international legislative framework and best practices to the wide range of the industrial property rights spectrum, such as patents and inventions, trademarks, industrial designs, trade secrets and geographical indications, IP enforcement, counterfeiting, and piracy
IP Awareness: Development of IP awareness initiatives for relevant stakeholders and the public, focusing on the protection framework for the IP rights and the infringements.
Study Visit to Greece: Organization of a study visit to facilitate the exchange of expertise and the familiarization with the Greek IP institutional framework.

- COMPONENT IΙ. Enhancing the Capacities of the Competent Authority for Industrial Property:
- Design of training strategy and plan
- On site mission and training session on IP (Patents, Industrial Designs, Geographical Indications, Plant Varieties)
- Training Sessions on IP (Patents/Inventions, Industrial Designs, Trade Secrets, Trademarks), Digital Platforms and E-Commerce, IP infringements,
- Counterfeiting, IP Awareness strategy
- IP summarized toolkit with best practices
