The staggering developments in Europe and the goals that need to be set in order to overcome the crisis are the issues which will be discussed at the Conference on the topic: "To get over the crisis, the EU must go on".

The Conference will take place on the 10th and 11th of October, in the Amphitheatre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Akadimias 1, and is being organized by the Greek Centre of European Studies and Research (EKEME) and the Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA), with the support and cooperation of the Representation of the European Commission in Greece.

Since the beginning of the 1980s, TEPSA, a network comprised of research institutions from all EU Member-States, in cooperation with EKEME, its local institution-member, consistently organizes a pre-Presidency Conference in the capital city of the next presiding country. This Conference, which gathers high-level academics and executives from all State Members and EU institutions, offers the opportunity to the Presidency to disclose and discuss its priorities with important actors of European Affairs and to concretize its targets. The Greek Centre of European Studies and Research (EKEME) has successfully organized the relevant conference for all four previous Greek Presidencies. In view of the new Greek Presidency, beginning on the 1st of January 2014, EKEME is once again organizing the pre-Presidency Conference in Athens.

In the framework of the Conference, personalities from the political and academic world, from Greece and the rest of Europe, will present and exchange opinions on crucial issues relating to current European Affairs and their development during the upcoming six-month Greek Presidency.

The Conference is organized in cooperation with the European Public Law Organization (EPLO). The working languages will be Greek and English, with simultaneous interpretation.
