The 24th Annual Reunion of the European Group of Public Law (EGPL) was held on September 13-15, 2013.
During the Reunion, the reports of the conference organized by the EGPL on the subject “Public Law and Solidarity” were presented and discussed. Many participants, among which many academics, professors, government representatives, as well as old and new members coming from European and non-European countries, attended the yearly meeting of the European Group of Public Law.
During the first session of Friday 13, presided by Prof. D. Feldman, University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), on the topic of a general introduction on “Solidarity, a Political Issue,” general reports were delivered by Prof. J. Miranda, of the University of Lisbon (Portugal), and Prof. B.G. Mattarella, of the University of Siena (Italy).
During the second session, presided by Prof. E. Malaret, University of Barcelona (Spain), on the topic of “Solidarity, a Legal Concept,” general reports were delivered by Prof. F. Péraldi Leneuf, Université Lille II (France), Prof. E. Roig, University of Barcelona (Spain), and Prof. X. Bioy, Université Toulouse 1 Capitole (France).
The third session, held on Saturday, September 14, presided by Prof. K. Wojtyczek, Judge at the European Court of Human Rights, had “Solidarity between Nations” as main topic, followed by general reports delivered by Prof. L.M. Díez - Picazo, Judge at the Spanish Supreme Court (Spain), and Prof. L. Casini, of the University of Rome La Sapienza (Italy).
Finally, the fourth session, presided by Prof. G. Edelstam, of the Södertörn University Sweden presented a case study drafted by Dr. V. Tzatzaki, Special Secretariat for Water (Greece) and the general conclusions, delivered by President J.-P. Costa.
