Lecture on “The European Legal Order and the Court of First Instances”

In memory of Manuel Chrysoloras (c. 1350-1415), the Greek scholar - symbol of the Hellenic contribution to the revival of European Culture, the EPLO organized the 5th Manuel Chrysoloras lecture on “The European Legal Order and the Court of First Instances”, within the framework of a series of annual lectures.

Speakers in this series of conferences include personalities from the legal world, who have served in highly responsible positions, and who develop, in English or French, a theme of their interest.

Mr. A. Markides, the former Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus, inaugurated the above-mentioned series of conferences, followed by Professor J.H. Weiler from the Jean Monnet Chair, Harvard University, and Professor Vassilios Skouris, President of the Court of Justice of the European Communities, who was the guest speaker in the 2005 international series of lectures.

Mr. B. Vesterdorf, President of the Court of First Instance of the European Communities, was the guest speaker in this event

The audience consisted mainly of academics, university professors and representatives of the Greek legal world.
