On 26–27 February 2026, the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) organized the Greek Youth Democracy Summit “Democracy, Democratic Participation and Institutions” and the Transnational Social Media Exhibition “How Can Europe Become More Democratic?” at Mandoulides School in Thessaloniki, within the framework of the EU-funded project EU CHILDOCRACY.
The two-day event brought together teenagers and young people from Greece, Bulgaria and Italy, creating a vibrant space for dialogue on democracy, civic engagement and European values.
During the Summit, participants engaged with distinguished speakers, including:
• Mr. Constantinos Tsoutsoplides, Head of the European Parliament Liaison Office in Greece
• Mr. Konstantinos Zervas, f. Mayor of Thessaloniki
• Ms. Anthie Kyriakopoulou, Expert at Cedefop
• Ms. Garyfallia (Fay) Selimi, Deputy Director of the Circular Economy & Climate Institute of EPLO
• Ms. Olia Panagiotopoulou & Ms. Katerina Omouridou, EUROPE DIRECT Thessaloniki
• Ms. Maria Spyraki, Journalist & Former Member of the European Parliament
The second day highlighted students’ creativity through the presentation of their videos exploring how Europe can become more democratic, followed by an award ceremony, case studies and the interactive workshop “My Europe in 2030 – From Idea to Impact”.
