On the occasion of the Greek Presidency of the EU, the EPLO organized a half-day conference on the subject “Green Paper on Changing VAT in the EU” on 27 February 2014, which took place at the conference venue of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where an innovative proposal for the change of VAT in the EU was presented, as well as proposals for the tax declaration of natural and legal persons and information on tax penalties, tax books and data for 2014.
Mr. Konstantinos Michalos, President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Dr. Ioannis Karkalis, Vice-Commissioner of the State and Director of the EPLO Academy of Transparency and Human Rights, gave introductory speeches. Mr. Christos Melas, Tax Consultant and Author, Mr. Elias Katoudis, Director of Tax Income of the Ministry of Finance and Mr. Dimitris Stamatopoulos, former Director General of the Ministry of Finance were the speakers of the event.
The conference was supported by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hellenic Union of Tax Collectors, the Athens Chamber of Finance, the Hellenic Union of Tax Consultants, the Union of Tax Freelancers of Attica, the Central Union of Greek Chambers, the Greek Company of Business Administration and the Europe Direct.
