PROJECT TITLE: The White Paper on State Reform
COUNTRIES: Greece
OVERALL OBJECTIVE: The project envisaged the preparation of a White Paper for the Greek Public Administration analyzing the principles of Good Governance, the failures of public services, the methodological principles towards the State Reform and, finally, the criteria for grouping the state functions.
ACTIVITIES:
Through the implementation of the project, the European Public Law Organization and its partner, the Center of European and Constitutional Law presented their vision and their suggestions for reforms in the Greek Public Administration, as well as for the administrative structure, towards the establishment of a State that will be coordinating its services in a centralised way.
As a comprehensive policy document, the White Paper intended to incorporate on the one hand the governmental priorities, principles, rules and objectives of good governance, and on the other hand, all those structural and functional changes deemed necessary to achieve the objectives of the administrative reform program, including an analysis of international practices and experience and of the administrative and political system in Greece.
