PROJECT TITLE: Strengthing the Capacity to Implement EU Acquis for Agriculture

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To enable Lithuania to continue the strengthening of its technical and institutional capacity to implement measures regarding the EU Common Agricultural Policy.  Furthermore, the project aimed at the strengthening of the administrative capacity of National Paying Agency to administer EAGGF Guarantee section expenditure and the assistance in installation of a fully adopted system for accounting, reporting and payment as required for accreditation in the Commission Regulation No. 163/95.

ACTIVITIES:

Information systems necessary for the administration of CAP measures, in particular the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS) and including the Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) were implemented.

Furthermore, the administrative capacity of the Market Regulation Agency for Agriculture and Food Products was strengthened in order to finalize the implementation of Common Market Organization Schemes, in particular intervention and various support schemes, trade mechanisms as well as market information system.

Finally, the project managed to strengthen the administrative capacity of the Lithuanian Institute of Agrarian Economics and the Lithuanian Agricultural Advisory Service to finalize the implementation of Lithuanian Farm Accountancy Data Network.
