PROJECT TITLE: Justice Sector Peer-Assisted Learning (JUSTPAL) Network
COUNTRIES: Europe and Central Asia countries
OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To develop a region-wide peer-based network for justice sector professionals (e.g. judges, prosecutors, justice sector IT/human resource/budgeting professionals) to exchange good practices and peer-driven improvements to their respective systems.
ACTIVITIES:
The Launch Conference of the Europe and Central Asia Justice Sector Peer-Assisted Learning (JUSTPAL) Network, organized for the World Bank by the European Public Law Organization (EPLO), took place 12- 14 April 2011 in Athens, Greece.
Leaders and representatives of the justice sector from twenty-four countries of Europe and Central Asia and several international organizations consolidated the network, which includes EU member states and non-member states to strengthen the sharing and dissemination reform experiences, methodologies, best practices and conduct of peer-reviews and self-assessments.
The Launch conference led to the adoption of the JUSTPAL declaration which formally resulted in the establishment of the network
