PROJECT TITLE: Integration of Youth in the Labor Market through a Social Network of Services and Infrastructures for Cultural Expression, Sports and Environment

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To promote the social integration and cohesion of young people and women belonging to the most vulnerable groups in Cuba. To this end, the project aimed at enhancing the self-sufficiency of young people living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods by creating social and economic opportunities, as well as instruments for democratic participation in these areas.
ACTIVITIES:
The project enhanced the participation of the local population in the proactive enforcement of cultural and environmental awareness. Besides, it included the promotion of social cohesion among the most vulnerable sectors of the population and the organization of trainings for local organizations in three Municipality of La Habana.
The main activities undertaken have been the following:
- Establishment of centers for training young people at local level;
- Seminars on gender equality, women and children’s rights, sexual exploitation, domestic violence, methods of self-protection and diversity in the neighbourhoods of Marianao and Guanabacoa, cine-forum and other social and cultural activities with the aim of enhancing the social inclusion and the working opportunities of young people at risk of marginalization.
