OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The main objective of the project is to contribute to increase the information available for victims of crime on the functioning of the criminal justice system, on their rights and the ways to exercise them.

The specific objectives of the project are to:

  • Strengthen victims’ knowledge on their rights and ways to exercise them
  • Contribute to the effective and coherent application of EU criminal law
  • Contribute to the reduction of secondary victimisation

ACTIVITIES

Development of information materials and resources for victims of crime, including:

  • Research on contents about the functioning of criminal proceedings and victims' rights;
  • Updating contents of the website produced in the context of the projects INFOVICTIMS and INFOVICTIMS II (https://infovictims.com/com/), and creating contents for the website and brochure for countries not partners to the previous projects: France, Greece, Italy, Ireland and Lithuania;
  • Organisation of meetings with members of police and judicial authorities for external validation of contents;
  • Development of a policy paper with minimum standards for the provision of information to victims;
  • Raising awareness of the police and judicial authorities on their duty to provide information to victims of crime and of the general public on victims’ rights
  • Organization of Final Conference.
