PROJECT TITLE: Development of the Albanian Border Management Strategy: Leadership, Management and Training for Border Police

COUNTRIES: Albania

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To contribute to the development of the Albanian Border Management Strategy by enhancing the leadership, management and training levels of the Borders Police System, in accordance with European Standards, and promoting greater inter-agency and bilateral cooperation.

ACTIVITIES:

The project included:

  • The organization of numerous training seminars which aimed at the training of several high-ranked officials; more than 700 police officers were engaged in the surveillance of Albanian Border Crossing Points;
  • The organization of a study visit of Albanian officials to Greece;
  • Production of a ‘Border Management Handbook’ and a ‘Green Border Surveillance Manual’ by the team of experts, deriving from the Hellenic Ministry of Public Order and the services of the junior partners, distributed to the beneficiaries;
  • Organization of a final conference where the project’s results were presented.
