PROJECT TITLE: Children’s Role for a Strong Civil Society

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To promote the development of a more dynamic civil society, which actively participates in the public debate on human rights and social inclusion, and a child-tailored justice system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Specifically, the project aimed at supporting CSOs in improving their capacities in the area of justice and security, thus empowering the CSOs in the promotion of the rights of the children. 

ACTIVITIES:

Main project activities included: 

  • Kick-off meeting and inaugural press conference;
  • Research on the situation of children’ s rights and access to justice in BiH: Activity 2 includes research on the legal framework regulating the protection of minors, the rights available to them and their access to justice, analyzed by both a local and an EU expert. At the end of the research a Final Report will be published and distributed to the main local stakeholders, including all the findings, a gap and needs analysis and recommendations drafted by the experts. The research will be conducted in three steps, ensuring a wide and comprehensive perspective on the issue:
    • General research of the legal framework
    • Monitoring activity aimed at analyzing the implementation of the legal framework through questionnaires and interviews to legal practitioners, social workers, non-governmental organizations, local authorities, etc.
    • Empirical research through the interaction with children during workshops
  • Final workshop for the sharing of recommendations
  • Closing event
