PROJECT TITLE: BRCKO V - “RIGAS FERAIOS”: Creation and Operation of a National School of Public Administration in the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To reconstruct the old building “Oslobodjenje” for the purpose of creating the Brcko National School of Public Administration (BNSPA). The goal is to offer through the BNSPA compact training courses annual courses at post-graduate level in the fields of administrative law and administrative science, national, comparative and European.
The specific objectives included covering the need to create the legal conditions and to introduce the appropriate legislation in BiH.
ACTIVITIES:
Having implemented successfully institution building projects in the field of public administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina for eight consecutive years, with the Brcko V – Rigas Feraios the EPLO creates a graduate training school for civil servants, the Brcko National School of Public Administration (BNSPA).
The project, co-funded by Hellenic Aid, involved the reconstruction of an old cinema building that now hosts the BNSPA, which is planned to open for the academic year 2009-2010.
The project included:
- The reconstruction of a building for the purpose of creating the Brcko National School of Public Administration;
- The creation of a coordination unit and the constitution of a local team in charge of the promotion of the project’s activities;
- The realization of one study visits to Greece for jurists, members of the Bosnian government and of the coordination team;
- Organization of one study visit to Greece for public servants of the Brcko District;
- Organization of two training seminars in Brcko, BiH.
