Membership in Concordia
The EPLO became a member of the Concordia platform in 2015. Concordia is an organization that promotes public-private partnerships and cross-sectoral collaboration through a diverse number of industries and geographic regions. It hosts a large annual conference in Washington DC or NYC every September, several round tables throughout the year, and also conducts research.
Concordia’s leadership council has members such as President Felipe Calderon, HRH Prince Abdul-Aziz bin Talal and France Fragos Townsend, while some notable speakers from past conferences are Former US President Bill Clinton, President Alvaro Uribe Velez, and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, etc. Businesses and Organizations represented include USAID, Harvard, JP Morgan, The Office of the UN Special Envoy for Global Education, and much more.
During the 2015 Concordia Summit in October, Professor Spyridon Flogaitis, the Director of the EPLO, has been invited to speak on a panel on Innovation in Institution Building where there will be a discussion and debate on best practices in international development, strategies in cross-sector collaboration and the innovative building of democratic international institution.
Membership in IACA
In 2010, the EPLO signed the Agreement for the Establishment of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) as an International Organization, thus becoming a founding member of IACA.
Historical Networks
Membership in EUNIDA (2000–2010s) The EPLO, under its preexisting form as the European Public Law Center (established in 1995), was a member of EUNIDA — the European Network of EU Member State Implementing Development Agencies. Founded in 2000 with a public mandate to design and implement sustainable development programs on behalf of the European Union, EUNIDA provided EPLO with an early platform for international cooperation in development policy.
Global Network of Greek Lawyers (2011–2013) In 2011, the EPLO launched the Global Network of Greek Lawyers working abroad (GNGL), initiated by Dr. Giorgos Dimitropoulos, Advisor to the Director of the EPLO. The GNGL quickly grew to nearly 60 members and became a vibrant forum for Greek legal professionals worldwide.
In July 2012, EPLO co‑organized the GNGL’s first conference, “The Modern State: What Reforms?”, at its premises in Sounion, with participation from senior officials, academics, and international partners.
In July 2013, EPLO hosted the GNGL Workshop “European Integration through Crisis”, fostering scientific dialogue on the challenges and prospects of European integration.
