Established in 1995, the Academy of European Public Law has been at the forefront of European public law teaching for almost twenty years, and today enjoys a reputation as the primary destination for scholarship in public law within Europe's dynamic setting, assembling more than fifty univerities.

The Academy offers three weeks of intensive courses leading to the Intensive International Master of Laws (I.I.LL.M.) in European Public Law or the Certificate of Attendance in European Public Law. Following the completion of two Academy sessions, it also gives the possibility of defending a thesis before international juries.

More than 500 students have graduated from the Academy, and are currently serving outstanding careers in academia, advocacy and the public, private and international development sectors.

The Academy is governed by three bodies: the Honorary Board, the Curatorium and the Directorate. It does not have permanent faculty, but rather calls upon world-class academics and experts, judges, diplomats and lawyers in order to present a full spectrum of views and ideas.

In addition to its main annual session, the Academy organizes extraordinary sessions, in partnership with University members of the EPLO, and addressed to the students of the partner Universities, such as the summer session in Mariupol, Ukraine, organized since 2008 at the Mariupol State University of Humanities.
