3rd Meeting of the Greek BlueMissionHub for Marine Pollution Minimization and Mitigation

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 3rd Meeting of the Greek BlueMissionHub for Marine Pollution Minimization and Mitigation, titled: "Minimizing and Mitigating Marine Pollution: Bridging Policy and Science."

The meeting will take place on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 09:30 to 14:00, at the Elia Ermou Hotel, Ermou 15-17, Athens, Greece.

In our previous meetings, we highlighted solutions for reducing marine pollution. This time, our focus will be on implementing these solutions to achieve national goals and strategies.

This event provides a unique opportunity to inform policymakers about the urgent need to reduce pressures on marine ecosystems. It also aims to strengthen communication and collaboration, addressing obstacles and promoting the adoption and implementation of effective solutions.

Organizers:

  • Institute for Sustainable Development, European Public Law Organization (EPLO)
  • Institute of Oceanography, Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR)

The meeting will feature an address by Mr. Spyridon Kouvelis, Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development and Board Member of the EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters.

This initiative is part of the European programs BLUEMISSIONMED and BLUE ECOSYSTEM, supporting the EU Mission Ocean and the EU Integrated Maritime Policy. Greece is represented in the Mission by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI).
