In Italy they even call him Professor of shades, because he finds a way to astonish every time. Lately he has been surprising those he converses with by supporting the... theory of the artichoke. According to the latter, if you remove the first leaf from an artichoke, it starts to go yellow. The yellowing gets more intense if you remove the next leaf, while if you remove the other leaves as well, the artichoke is eventually destroyed. This is the theory of Giuliano Amato (photographed) regarding the reasons why Greece will not leave the Euro, as something like this would affect the entire Eurozone. I remembered it because, as is well known, the former Italian Prime Minister, socialist and current member of the Democratic Party, visited Athens and met with Ministers of the Government. I have been informed that he attended, yesterday, the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the European Public Law Organization, of which he is a founding member.
