Violence is an age-old concept and expression. The new morals, however, the new customs and the modern way of life gave rise to other, diverse violent forms, which have invaded out daily lives for good, disrupting and deranging the smooth operation of our microcosm and, as a consequence, the community as a whole.

Uneasily we watch incidents and manifestations of violence unfolding before our eyes, not knowing if we should react, in which way and in which direction.

The direct result is the derangement of our psyche. The long-term and cumulative result is the derangement of social relationships of every form which, aggregated, may even shake the foundations of modern democracy.

The European Public Law Organization (EPLO), in response to the demands of the times, is organizing an event-dialogue, at its premises – Achaiou 16, Dexameni – on Friday, 18 October at 17:30, on the topic "The Problem of Violence in Modern Democracies".

Eugenia Katoufa, Journalist and Social Scientist, will coordinate the dialogue, while Vasilis Tsevrenis, PhD in Public Law, Faculty of Law of the University of Athens, is scientifically responsible for the event.
