The EPLO, in collaboration with its local partners, BCCP, Odhikar and ODPUP, organized the final conference on “Transparency in elections”. This event closed the series of seminars organized within the framework of the project, within the framework of the Project “DEMOS - Democratic Elections Motivation, Orientation and Support”.
The speakers in this event included representatives from Spain, Italy and Greece.
The audience consisted mainly of the state authorities, NGO representatives, jurists, academics, and students.
The following issues were discussed during the conference:
- Election monitoring
- The fight against electoral fraud
- The financing of political parties
Furthermore, the DEMOS website was also launched by the Head of the Delegation of the European commission in Dhaka, his Excellency the Ambassador Stefan Frowein.
Ms. D. Spanoudi, Head of the Institution Building Unit I of the EPLO, represented the EPLO in the aforementioned conference.
