The EPLO organized an international conference on Transparency and Reform of Administrative Procedures especially through E-Government Initiatives for a Better Public Administration under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Interior Affairs, in the framework of the operational programme “Politeia 2008-2010” at the EPLO premises in Athens.
Professor Procopis Pavlopoulos, Minister of Interior Affairs, gave the opening address of the conference, followed by an address by Professor Evangelos Venizelos, former Minister of Culture.
The thirty speakers included government officials, EC officials, law professors and legal practitioners from Greece, the United Kingdom, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Portugal and Slovakia.
During the three sessions of the conference the issues of Regulatory Reform, Control of Public Administration and Evaluation of Public Policies, and Improvement of Public Services through New Technologies were explored and valuable conclusions were drawn.
