A EPLO mission comprised of Ms. P. Protopsaltis, Deputy Director of the EPLO, visited London on 04 - 06 June 2007 within the framework of the Project: “NIREUS - Environmental Protection to the Small Island States”. During this visit, Ms. Protopsaltis attended a meeting of the University Consortium of the Small Island States (UCSIS) along with high-ranking representatives of the aforementioned Consortium.
Specifically, Ms. Protopsaltis delivered a detailed presentation with respect to the role, mission and activities of the European Public Law Organization in the framework of the “NIREUS” Project, whose Local Partner is the University Consortium of the Small Island States. In addition, meetings took place with Professor W. Hunte, Pro Vice Chancellor of Graduate Studies and Research of the University of West Indies, Professor K. Koshy, Director of the Pacific Centre for the Environment and Sustainable Development of the University of the South Pacific, Professor I. Fagoonee, Vice Chancellor of the University of Mauritius and Dr. F. Ali, UCSIS Coordinator from the University of West Indies. All the aforementioned meetings were successfully completed and led to very fruitful conclusions regarding the actual implementation of the NIREUS project principals.
