EPLO co-organizer of a Conference in Budapest

A two-day conference entitled “Trust of Citizens towards Justice in the Light of Activities” took place in Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest, Hungary, on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th May 2017.

Jointly organized by the Minister of Justice of Hungary, the French National Chamber of Judicial Officers and the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) the conference aimed to direct sufficient attention to actors of the procedures whose activities have a significant influence on the fairness and the implementation of a decision: to forensic experts and to court bailiffs.

The speakers illustrated how can the state guarantee that the expectations of citizens seeking justice, such as the effective but nonetheless humane way of enforcement of court decisions based on actual facts, are met by regulating and supervising these two professions. When developing the legal rules - in addition to the principle of legality - legislators need to focus on creating an appropriate balance between the creditors’ demand for efficiency and debtors’ expectations concerning fairness and empathy.

The international aspects of the topic were introduced with a welcome speech by Prof. Spyridon Flogaitis, Director of the EPLO, an International Organization dedicated to the creation and dissemination of knowledge in the area of Public Law lato sensu and Governance.

Please find attached the programme with the confirmed speakers.
