An event under the subject: “E-Justice: A vision that becomes reality” was organized by the Institute for Justice and Growth of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) on May 16, 2017 at the Conference Hall of the EPLO in Plaka, Athens.
A number of senior judges from the High Courts of Greece along with technocrats discussed the Greek Integrated Management System of Administrative, Criminal and Civil judicial affairs comparing it to the European e-Justice system.
An informative report on where the project stands demonstrated the progress done as well as the problems that have arose, the personnel's response to change and the relevant EU directives.
According to the speakers, despite the important steps that have been taken, the performance of Greece in e-Justice is very low compared to that of other EU countries. The situation is somewhat better within the Administrative Justice rather than in the Civil and Criminal justice while the main obstacle to progress is the number of new laws and the unique way of archiving that every court in Greece uses.
Mr. Athanasios Rantos, Vice President of Council of State coordinated the discussion while introductory speech was given by Mr Konstantinos Kousoulis, Councilor of State.
Welcome speeches were given by Prof. Spyridon Flogaitis, Director of the EPLO and Mr. Nicolas Kanellopoulos, Director of the Institute for Justice and Growth.
