2nd Seminar in the Framework of the NIREUS Project

On 23 November 2007 an expert mission was organized for the European experts, during which they visited the Caribbean Court of Justice, the Environmental Commission, and the European Commission Delegation, and held in-depth meetings with judges and officers.

The speakers in this event included both European and local experts and scientists. From the European side, Dr. E. Levantis, Dr. Ch. Petrou and Dr. A. Papapetropoulos represented the EPLO.

The audience consisted mainly of academics, lawyers, judges, NGO representatives, scientists and students.

The event was chaired by Dr. F. Ibrahim Ali and addressed by by His Excellency Justice M. de la Bastide, President of the Caribbean Court of Justice, Her Honour Justice S. Paul, Chair of the Environmental Commission, His Excellency S. Christopoulos, Ch. d’affaires a.i., of the European Commission Delegation in Trinidad & Tobago, Pro-Vice Chancellor & Campus Principal of the University of West Indies, Prof. B. Brereton, and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of West Indies, Prof. W. Hunte.

Ms. P. Protopsaltis, EPLO Deputy Director, and EPLO Head of Environmental Unit Mr. E. Levantis represented the EPLO in the aforementioned seminar.
