OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The main aim of this project is to provide technical assistance for the implementation of the Greek National Industrial Strategy (NIS). There are three main areas in which technical support is required to design policies that can transform the Greek industry and boost its competitiveness and resilience: 1) strengthening industrial eco-systems; 2) Intellectual and Industrial property (IP) and 3) Upskilling and reskilling for the green and digital transition

ACTIVITIES

EPLO will mainly be involved in the activities related to IP, including:

  • Mapping the IP framework on a national and EU level, taking into account relevant national and European initiatives in the field
  • Identifying and review international good practices in the field of IP, from both EU Members States and other non-EU countries and draw lessons learned from these good practices that can be utilised for the development of the national IP action plan in Greece
  • Developing a national IP draft action plan, in consultation with the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), aiming to simplify the regulatory framework and harmonise it with the EU legislation.
  • Developing a proposal for a governance mechanism that will effectively support the design and the implementation of the national IP action plan. The governance mechanism will focus on the activation and efficient operationalisation of the National Industrial Property Committee;
  • Developing appropriate tools, processes, such as simplified and efficient workflows and templates, to support the operationalisation of the National Industrial Property Committee;
  • Providing high level recommendations on the scope and the minimum requirements of a single national IT platform (One-stop-shop) consolidating Intellectual Property and Patents information and sources in Greece.
  •  Organising a dissemination event to present the draft IP action plan, the governance mechanism and the related tools;
