Project Description

 Background

Global challenges like climate change and geopolitical conflicts are shifting the world order. The 2030 Agenda, a key tool for a holistic response, faces difficulties. The rise of anti-democratic and hate discourses poses an "ethical disaster", threatening core EU values of cultural diversity and democracy. Universities, as hubs of research and education, are crucial for training professionals to foster inclusive, democratic societies and combat discrimination.

Project Description

 Aims

The BRIDGE project aims to promote intercultural dialogue based on European values in the Higher Education sector.

The specific objectives are:

  • Raising awareness on social challenges in HEIs that affect intercultural dialogue by highlighting inspiring practices and offering interactive teaching resources through a digital pedagogical museum.
  • Providing innovative and specialized university education by developing microcredentials that train for intercultural competencies to address social challenges.
  • Supporting Inclusive University Governance, helping institutions integrate diversity, human rights, and equality into policies. By the end of the project, at least six universities will have piloted or integrated these frameworks.

Target Groups

The project is addressed to:

  • University professors and research staff in the field of Social and Legal Sciences
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate university students (master's and doctorate) in the branches of knowledge of the Social and Legal Sciences
  • Directors of higher education institutions

Results

The project will produce the following deliverables:

  • Digital Museum platform that, through gamification, documentary photography and shared reflective analysis, will stimulate intercultural dialogue supporting sustainable human development and global equality
  • Six Online Micro-Credential Training Courses focused on current social challenges and sustainable development
  • Guidelines for Higher Education Institutions to integrate intercultural dialogue into governance and curricula
