International Symposium on Natural Law – Athens, 2026
The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) will host the 2026 edition of the International Symposium on Natural Law on 7–8 September 2026 at its headquarters in Plaka, Athens.
Organized by the Academia Internacional de Direito e Economia, with the support of EPLO and partner institutions including FIESP, FAESP, EJA, Fecomércio RS, Fecomércio PE, Instituto Liberal, and ANETRAMS, the symposium will bring together leading academics, jurists, and researchers from multiple countries for two days of reflection on the philosophical roots of justice and the enduring relevance of Natural Law.
Theme and Purpose
The symposium will explore the philosophical foundations of the legal order, revisiting the classical tradition that shaped Western legal thought. Athens provides the ideal setting for this dialogue on how Natural Law continues to inform modern legal systems and democratic institutions.
Discussions will focus on major philosophical currents — Jusnaturalism, Positivism, Contractualism, and Historicism — and their contemporary developments, as well as the defining features of Natural Law such as rationality, limitation, instinct, and justice.
Participation
The event is exclusive and limited in capacity.
