Athens, 27 July 2026 — The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) and the Halal Products Development Company (HPDC), a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement to explore future cooperation on the development of the halal pharmaceutical and cosmetics sector in Greece.
The signing forms the first institutional step toward assessing Greece’s potential participation in the rapidly expanding global halal pharmaceutical and cosmetics market.
A Framework for Strategic Cooperation
Under the Agreement, the two Parties express their intention to cooperate on initiatives relating to:
- Assessment of the global and regional halal pharmaceutical and cosmetics market
- Evaluation of Greece’s current capabilities and export potential
- Identification of regulatory, certification, investment and market‑access opportunities
- Development of strategic recommendations and policy roadmaps for Greece’s positioning in the international halal market
- Preparation of funding proposals and technical documentation for future phases of the Project
A New Channel for Greek Pharmaceutical Exports
The initiative aligns with broader efforts to strengthen Greece–Saudi Arabia economic relations and create new pathways for Greek pharmaceutical exports to the Gulf region.
