EPLO and the Organization of American States Sign Memorandum of Understanding

10 juin, 2026

The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) and the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (GS/OAS) have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing a broad framework for cooperation in areas related to the rule of law, access to justice, institutional strengthening, and democratic governance.

The MOU was signed on 18 May 2026 in Athens by Professor Spyridon Flogaitis, Director of the EPLO, and on 4 June 2026 in Washington, D.C., by Secretary General Albert Ramdin on behalf of the OAS.

This agreement creates new opportunities for collaboration between the two international organizations, particularly through the Inter‑American Program of Judicial Facilitators (IPJF/OAS), which supports Member States in strengthening access to justice and peaceful dispute‑resolution mechanisms. The MOU foresees cooperation in knowledge exchange, capacity‑building, joint activities, and the development of supplementary agreements for specific programs and initiatives.

This partnership strengthens EPLO’s engagement in the Americas and reinforces its mission to promote the rule of law, democratic governance, and institutional capacity‑building through international cooperation.
