PROJECT TITLE: Implementation of Naples II Convention
COUNTRIES: Slovak Republic
OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To assist in the completion of the pre-accession process in Slovakia in the field of management of internal borders through the training of the staff of the future Central Coordination Unit on the practical implementation of the Naples Convention that envisages the coordination for mutual assistance and the exchange of information between member states so as to enhance cooperation between the customs administrations.
ACTIVITIES:
The projects was implemented through the following activities:
- Two seminars held and conducted by experts of the Hellenic Ministry of Finance: the first focused on the process of negotiations of bilateral protocols concerning the practical application of the Convention, the second focused on the management and internal organization towards the proper application of the Convention;
- Informal consultations on the issues addressed during the seminars;
- A 5-day study visit in Greece.
