The EPLO in collaboration with the Department of Public Law of the Law Faculty of the University of Athens, organized a lecture on “The Development of Thai Administrative Justice and Thai Administrative Law”, within the framework of the series of annual lectures in memory of the late colleague Professor John Anastopoulos.
This memorial international lecture series bears the name of the late Professor John Anastopoulos. Speakers in this series of lectures include personalities from the legal world who have served in highly responsible positions, and who develop, in English or French, a theme of their interest.
Professor and former Prime Minister Giuliano Amato inaugurated this series of lectures on 15 May 1998, and several others have since followed, including the late Senior Vice-President and General Counsel of the World Bank, Ibrahim Shihata, as well as, in 2005, Mr. Jean-Paul Costa, at the time Vice-President of the European Court of Human Rights.
Prof. Dr. Ackaratorn Chularat, President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Thailand, was the guest speaker for 2006.
The audience consisted mainly of representatives of the High Courts, academics, representatives of the Greek political, legal and diplomatic world, as well as practitioners.
