A joint meeting took place on 17 May 2013 in Athens, in the framework of the implementation of the Protocol for cooperation between the Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Russian Organization "Federal State Registration Chamber" of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Public Law Organization (EPLO), the Panhellenic Exporters Association, the Export Promotion Organization and Invest in Greece. The UHCCI was represented by its Treasurer and President of the Chamber of Corfu, Mr. Georgios Chondrogiannis.
The subject of the meeting was the cooperation between bodies, at a bilateral or multilateral level, on issues of mutual interest in the field of accreditation of the representative offices of Greek and Russian companies and their branches, the provision of assistance for the issuing of visas, as well as the conducting of analytical, informational, methodological and research work and the preparation of legislative and other legal-institutional acts.
A discussion took place on common fields of action between Greek bodies representing businesses, forms of cooperation towards the support of Greek businesses in Russia and of Russian businesses in Greece, as well as the provision of facilitation towards the solving of various problems in the fields of export trade, the participation of businesses in public procurement tenders, the investment procedures and strategic investors, issues relating to the General Trade Registry and the mutual accreditation of documents etc.
