OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The main objective of the project is to offer a comprehensive suite of solutions catering to deaf people communication needs.

The specific objectives of the project are to:

  • Create multi-modal, high-accuracy deep learning models for deaf/hearing people interactive communication
  • Develop deep network compression techniques for scaling the developed models to mobile devices
  • Implement application pilots of immense practical importance that will be evaluated by the end-users
  • Promote global-scale excellence in science by supporting the Consortium partners to become leading experts in their field and transfer their acquired expertise to research institutions, companies and the public.

ACTIVITIES

EPLO is participating in all WPs mentioned below, and is in particular responsible for the WP 7.

  • WP1: Project management and coordination
  • WP2:Definition of requirements, architecture and data for aiD technology
  • WP3: Exploitation and dissemination of results
  • WP4: SL translation for hearing people
  • WP5: Intelligent AR Environments for Deaf and HoH communication
  • WP6: Deep Network Compression
  • WP7: Pilots and evaluation

EPLO’s role is mainly on focused on scalable [compressed] pilot development and deployment. Thus, EPLO will target real-world pilots that will reinforce the efforts towards commercialization of the project.
