OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The overall objective of this project is to create a unified, strategic and methodological framework that establishes common principles and rules for all inspection authorities in Romania. This framework aims to strengthen the coherence, transparency and effectiveness of regulatory delivery across sectors. In the long term, the project seeks to i) improve and simplify the regulatory environment for businesses through modern, evidence-based, data-driven inspection methodologies and ii) increase environmental protection and reduce the number of environmental and safety-related incidents.

ACTIVITIES

EPLO IRIDE participates in the following activities:
•    Regulatory analysis and assessment of current inspection systems and frameworks in Romania.
•    Expert advisory services for the design of the Strategic Framework for inspections.
•    Development of practical recommendations for coordination mechanisms, long-term system reform, and monitoring & evaluation systems.
•    Preparation of technical notes and written analytical deliverables.
•    Stakeholder engagement support, including participation in consultations, discussions and presentations with Romanian authorities and inspection bodies.
•    Ongoing collaboration and coordination with the OECD project team to ensure coherence and quality across all components of Output 6.
