PROJECT TITLE: Support to Turkey's Efforts in the Full Alignment and Enforcement in the Field of Intellectual Property Rights with a Focus on Fight against Piracy

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To support, in a cooperative and integrated approach, the Turkish Government’s effort to fully comply with the rules and practices of EU intellectual property rights system. In particular, it aimed at strengthening the legal, administrative and institutional capacity of the Directorate General Copyright and Cinema (DGCC) of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MoCT).
ACTIVITIES:
Project activities include:
- Revision and drafting of the current legislation according to the acquis;
- Recommendations for the reorganization of the DGCC of the MoCT;
- Training of the staff of all relevant implementation and enforcement bodies (DGCC, judges, police, customs, municipal authorities, municipal police, collecting societies);
- Recommendations for a strategy for communication among IPR related bodies;
- Elaboration of a public awareness campaign strategy;
- Drafting of a manual to be distributed to all stakeholders.
